Chaplain Jay Hughes

Chaplain (Col) James Hughes is the Chief of Chaplains for the Civil Air Patrol Chaplains Corp. Chap Hughes also serves as Advisor to Georgia Wing Commander and Georgia Wing Director of Recruiting and Retention.

Chap Hughes is the former Commander and Vice Commander of Georgia Wing. As a Chaplain, Chap Hughes has served at every level of Civil Air Patrol, including Squadron Chaplain, group Chaplain, Georgia Wing Chaplain, Southeast Deputy Region Chaplain, and Secretary of the Chaplain Service Advisory Council. He has held qualifications as a mission observer, Counterdrug observer and cadet
orientation pilot. He also served as an escort for the International Air Cadet Exchange and as a contributor to “Flight Time: Values for Living”, the character development material for cadets.
