Chaplain Corps Wishes “Happy Diwali” to All Celebrating

October 19, 2017, is the beginning of the festival of Diwali, the joyous celebration for Hindus.

Happy Diwali, or as it is said in Hindu, “Diwali ki Shubhkamnayein.”

To all celebrating the joyous festival of Diwali, the Civil Air Patrol Chaplain Corps wishes you a happy celebration.

Diwali, or Deepvali, is the happy celebration called the “Festival of the Lights.”

It is a celebration that lasts five days. On third day of the most important rituals of the Diwali festival takes place. These include the lighting of Diyas and candles all around the house, worshiping the divine Laxmi and Ganesha to summon health and wealth, and colorful fireworks and color-throwing.   There is usually an exchange of heartfelt gifts during Diwali festival to family and friends.
